Taxonomy
Pachydiscus (Pachydiscus) awajiensis was named by Morozumi (1985). Its type specimen is OMNH M205, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Aw7, Nagata, which is in a Campanian marine siltstone in the Seidan Formation of Japan.
