Taxonomy
Patagiosites laevis was named by Morozumi (1985). Its type specimen is JM386, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Aw1, Kiba, Seidan-cho, which is in a Campanian marine siltstone in the Seidan Formation of Japan.
