Euryamphipora was named by Klovan (1966) [Sepkoski's age data: D Fras Sepkoski's reference number: 363]. Its type is Euryamphipora platyformis.

It was assigned to Amphiporidae by Stearn et al. (1999); and to Stromatoporoidea by Sepkoski (2002).
