Taxonomy
Nigericeras scotti was named by Cobban (1972). Its type specimen is USNM 166396, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS Mesozoic D6756, Baca County, which is in a Cenomanian carbonate limestone in the Greenhorn Limestone Formation of Colorado.
