Taxonomy
Ammonites delaruei was named by d'Orbigny (1841). It is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Dipoloceras (Dipoloceroides).

It was recombined as Dipoloceras delaruei by Spath (1931); it was recombined as Dipoloceras (Dipoloceroides) delaruei by Breistroffer (1947); it was recombined as Dipoloceroides delaruei by Kennedy and Klinger (2012).
