Stalioa bouryi was named by Cossmann (1888).

It was recombined as Stalioa (Cirsomphalus) bouryi by Cossmann (1921); it was recombined as Staliopsis (Sandbergeriella) bouryi by Le Renard and Pacaud (1995).
