Aporrhais striatocarinata was named by Sinzow (1880). It is the type species of Trilemma.
It was recombined as Aporrhais (Tessarolax) bicarinata by Wollemann (1912); it was recombined as Trilemma striatocarinatum by Blagovetshenskiy and Shumilkin (2006).
