Taxonomy
Phalium (Kahua) skinneri was named by Marwick (1928). It is the type species of Phalium (Kahua).

It was recombined as Semicassis (Kahua) skinneri by Beu et al. (1990); it was recombined as Kahua skinneri by Beu (2010).
