Taxonomy
Gyrodes greeni was named by Murphy and Rodda (1960). It is extant. Its type specimen is UCLA 28630, a shell. Its type locality is UCLA loc. 3465, Huling Creek, which is in a Cenomanian marine sandstone in the Budden Canyon Formation of California.

It was recombined as Gyrodes (Sohlella) greeni by Popenoe et al. (1987).
