Taxonomy
Saccoglossus testa was named by Cameron (2016). Its type specimen is FMNH PE 45216 and is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Mazon Creek (FMNH collection), which is in a Westphalian D deltaic mudstone in the Carbondale Formation of Illinois.
