Rissopsis castlecliffensis was named by Finlay (1930). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Eusetia castlecliffensis by Cotton (1944); it was recombined as Austrorissopsis castlecliffensis by Grant-Mackie and Chapman-Smith (1971), Beu et al. (1990).
