Arctognathus breviceps
Taxonomy
Arctognathoides breviceps was named by Boonstra (1934). Its type specimen is SAM-PK-9345, a skull (Skull with lower jaw almost complete but somewhat deformed), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Oudeplaas, Richmond, which is in a Wuchiapingian terrestrial horizon in South Africa. It is the type species of Arctognathoides.
It was recombined as Arctognathus breviceps by Sigogneau-Russell (1989).
