Gorgonops longifrons
Taxonomy
Gorgonognathus longifrons was named by Haughton (1915). Its type specimen is SAM 2671, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dunedin, which is in a Wuchiapingian terrestrial horizon in South Africa.
It was recombined as Gorgonops longifrons by Sigogneau-Russell (1989).
