Lycaenops angusticeps

Taxonomy
Scymnognathus angusticeps was named by Broom (1913). Its type specimen is AMNH 5537, a skull (Crushed skull with dentary), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Wilgerbosch, New Bethesda, which is in a Wuchiapingian/Changhsingian terrestrial horizon in South Africa. It is the type species of Lycaenoides.

It was recombined as Lycaenoides angusticeps by Broom (1932); it was recombined as Lycaenops angusticeps by Sigogneau-Russell (1989).
