Taxonomy

Inostrancevia latifrons was named by Pravoslavlev (1927). Its type specimen is PIN 2005/1857, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sokolki locality, PIN 2005, which is in a Severodvinian/Vyatkian terrestrial horizon in the Salarevo Formation of the Russian Federation.

Synonyms

Amalitzkia vladimiri was named by Pravoslavlev (1927). Its type specimen is PIN 2005/1856, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sokolki locality, PIN 2005, which is in a Severodvinian/Vyatkian terrestrial horizon in the Salarevo Formation of the Russian Federation.

It was synonymized subjectively with Inostrancevia latifrons by Sigogneau-Russell (1989), Battail and Surkov (2000), Ivakhnenko (2003).
Amalitzkia annae was named by Pravoslavlev (1927). Its type specimen is PIN 2356/32 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Zavrazhye locality, PIN 2353, 2356, which is in a Severodvinian/Vyatkian terrestrial horizon in the Salarevo Formation of the Russian Federation.

It was synonymized subjectively with Inostrancevia latifrons by Ivakhnenko (2003).
