Taxonomy
Ilchunaia parva was named by Rusconi (1946). Its type specimen is MJM PV 513, a partial skull (Partial left premaxilla), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Divisadero Largo, which is in a Divisaderan terrestrial horizon in the Divisadero Largo Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Ilchunaia.
