Taxonomy
Buchiceras slizewiczi was named by Fallot (1885). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dieulefit (Slizewicz collection), which is in a Coniacian marine sandstone in the Grès Verts de Dieulefit Formation of France.
It was recombined as Metatissotia slizewiczi by Hyatt (1903), Kennedy (1984).
