Taxonomy
Pachydiscus canali was named by de Grossouvre (1894). Its type specimen is MNHN.F.R51859, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Road from Nalzen to Freychenet, which is in a Cenomanian carbonate limestone in the Marnes a Micraster Formation of France.
It was recombined as Tongoboryceras canali by Kennedy (1995).
