Taxonomy
Pachydiscus cayeuxi was named by de Grossouvre (1894). Its type specimen is MNHN.F.R51867, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Road from Sougraigne to Les Croutets (bancs inferieurs de rudistes), which is in a Santonian carbonate marl in France.
It was recombined as Pachydiscus (Pachydiscus) cayeuxi by Kennedy (1995).
