Leptorophus tener
Taxonomy
Melanerpeton tenerum was named by Schönfeld (1911). Its type specimen is MMGD-PzP1, a skull (incomplete skull in part and counterpart), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Clennen, Saxony, which is in an Autunian terrestrial horizon in the Bortewitz Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Leptorophus.
It was recombined as Leptorophus tener by Boy (1986), Schoch and Milner (2014).
