Taxonomy
Meridiceras amolanasense was named by Hillebrandt (2006). Its type specimen is TUB 670119/2/1, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Quebrada Amolanas (sample 670119/2), which is in an Ibex carbonate limestone in Chile.
