Taxonomy
Reynesoceras americanum was named by Hillebrandt (2006). Its type specimen is TUB 660710/4/28, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is W PeƱon de Pedernales (sample 660710/4), which is in a Margaritatus carbonate limestone in Chile.
