Species nomen honors Jim Morrison, vocalist and lizard king.
Taxonomy
Barbaturex morrisoni was named by Head et al. (2013). Its type specimen is UCMP 142227 (partial right dentary) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP V96009, Pondaung Sandstone, which is in a Bartonian terrestrial sandstone/mudstone in the Pondaung Formation of Myanmar. It is the type species of Barbaturex.
