Leda planiuscula was named by Tate (1886) [TYPE LOCALITY: Adelaide bore, Kent Town, South Australia, Australia].

It was recombined as Ovaleda planiuscula by Darragh (1970); it was recombined as Sarepta planiuscula by Darragh and Kendrick (2008).
