Tersomius dolesensis was named by Anderson and Bolt (2013). Its type specimen is omnh 3709, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Richards Spur, which is in an Artinskian fissure fill claystone/conglomerate in Oklahoma.
