Taxonomy
Colobomycter vaughni was named by MacDougall et al. (2016). Its type specimen is UWBM 96304, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Richards Spur, which is in an Artinskian fissure fill claystone/conglomerate in Oklahoma.
