Diplocaulus primus
Taxonomy
Peronedon primus was named by Olson (1970). Its type specimen is CNHM (FMNH) UR 1234, a partial skeleton (skull, jaws, vertebrae, ribs, partial shoulder girdle, partial forelimbs), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Norman, which is in a Kungurian fluvial-lacustrine shale/shale in the Hennessey Formation of Oklahoma.
It was recombined as Diplocaulus primus by Milner (1996).
