Proegernia palankarinnensis
Taxonomy
Proegernia palankarinnensis was named by Martin et al. (2004). Its type specimen is SAM P39204, a mandible (right dentary with 10 complete teeth and 12 alveoli or broken teeth for a total of at least 22 teeth), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Young Bucks Quarry, Lake Palankarinna (UCR RV-9002), which is in an Oligocene fluvial-lacustrine siltstone/claystone in the Etadunna Formation of Australia. It is the type species of Proegernia.
