Edaphosaurus cruciger
Taxonomy
Dimetrodon cruciger was named by Cope (1878). Its type specimen is AMNH 4060 (lectotype), a set of vertebrae, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Naosaurus cruciger by Cope (1886), Hay (1902), Case (1907); it was recombined as Edaphosaurus cruciger by Hay (1930), Romer and Price (1940), Reisz (1986).
