Taxonomy
Scincoideus grassator was named by Smith and Gauthier (2013). Its type specimen is UCMP 214231 (nearly complete right dentary) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Arapahovius Paleofaunule, which is in a Lysitean/Lostcabinian terrestrial horizon in the Wasatch Formation of Wyoming.
