Monocnemodon syphakos
Taxonomy
Monocnemodon syphakos was named by Nydam (2013). Its type specimen is UMNH VP 17384 (partial right dentary) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UMNH VP Loc. 424, Pasture Wash, which is in a Santonian terrestrial horizon in the Straight Cliffs Formation of Utah. It is the type species of Monocnemodon.
