Triopticus primus
Taxonomy
Triopticus primus was named by Stocker et al. (2016). Its type specimen is TMM 31100-1030, a partial skull (Posterior portion of a skull), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Otis Chalk Quarry 3, TMM 31100, which is in a Carnian/Norian crevasse splay mudstone in the Colorado City Formation of Texas. It is the type species of Triopticus.
