Paralogoniscus was named by Kazantseva-Selentseva (1981) [Sepkoski's age data: P u Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Karaunguriidae by Kazantseva-Selezneva (1981); to Cosmoptychiidae by Gardiner (1993); and to Palaeonisciformes by Sepkoski (2002).
