Anchilophus gaudini
Taxonomy
Anchilophus gaudini was named by Pictet and Humbert (1869). Its type specimen is MGL LM-12/2335, a maxilla (fragment of left maxilla with M2/-M3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mormont Eclepens, which is in a Bartonian terrestrial horizon in Switzerland. It is the type species of Metanchilophus.
It was recombined as Metanchilophus gaudini by Pictet and Humbert (1869) and Remy (2012).
