Taxonomy
Anchura baptos was named by Elder and Saul (1996). Its type specimen is USNM 485427, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS M5906, Dip Creek, which is in a Maastrichtian marine siliciclastic in California.
