Taxonomy
Boreadorthis sheehani was named by Cocks (2014). Its type specimen is Sheehan 1987 pl. 1 f. 15-16, a valve (internal mould of dorsal valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 74B20, which is in a Rawtheyan deep-water shale in the Fosses Formation of Belgium.
