Scaphorthis aulacis was named by Percival (1979) [? Scaphorthis aulacis]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is L049. Near 'Kurrajong Park', north of Gunningbland, which is in an Eastonian/Onnian marine siltstone/sandstone in the Goonumbla Volcanics Formation of Australia.
