Isorthis festiva was named by Philip (1962). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality 49, Boola Beds, south of Tyers Quarry, Tyers area, Victoria, which is in a Silurian marine mudstone in the Boola Beds Formation of Australia.
