Taxonomy
Hesperinia asturica was named by Villas et al. (1989). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Playa del Cordial, One km SE of Cabo Vidrias, which is in a Llanvirn shoreface claystone in the El Castro Formation of Spain.
