Taxonomy
Eostropheodonta discumbata was named by Cocks et al. (1970). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Shelly Fauna of the Disa Member, Cedarberg Formation, Western Cape Province, which is in a Hirnantian/Rhuddanian marine sandstone/mudstone in the Cedarburg Formation of South Africa.
