Taxonomy
Tritoechia (Parvitritoechia) preandina was named by Benedetto et al. (2003). Its type specimen is CEGH-UNC 20901, a valve (ventral valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cerro San Roque, which is in a Tremadoc open shallow subtidal wackestone/grainstone in the San Juan Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Tritoechia (Parvitritoechia).
