It was assigned to Clupeidae by Gaemers (1984), Constantin (1999); to Clupeiformes by Sepkoski (2002); and to Dussumieriinae by Arambourg (1925), Arambourg (1927), Steurbaut (1982), Steurbaut (1984), Schwarzhans (2019).
