Paralenorthis costata was named by Zhan et al. (2014) [= 1976 Orthambonites minusculus (Phleger); Liu, p. 140, pl. 1, figs 1–4.
= 1976 Orthambonites cf. rotundiformis Cooper; Liu, p. 140, pl. 1, figs 5–7.
= 1979 Orthambonites cf. rotundiformis Cooper; Liu, p. 71, pl. 1, fig. 27.]. Its type specimen is NIGP 156624, a valve (ventral internal mould), and it is a 3D body fossil.
