Mauriciosaurus fernandezi
Taxonomy
Mauriciosaurus fernandezi was named by Frey et al. (2017) [Zoobank: urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:8D331E82-25B5-
4E81-98F8-AFE7086E7693]. Its type specimen is INAH CPC RFG 2544 P.F.1., a skeleton, and it is a compression preserving soft parts. Its type locality is Vallecillo quarry (CPC collection), which is in a Turonian offshore limestone in the Agua Nueva Formation of Mexico. It is the type species of Mauriciosaurus.
