Taxonomy
Saccocoma quenstedti was named by Verniory (1961) [Formally published in Sieverts-Doreck and Hess, 2002, on material briefly originally described in Sieverts-Doreck in Verniory 1961]. Its type specimen is SMNS 64832 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Red Rogoznik coquina, limestone quarry at Rogoznik, Pieniny Klippen Belt, which is in a Tithonian/Tithonian deep subtidal grainstone in the Dursztyn Formation of Poland.
