Taxonomy
Hypoturrilites primus was named by Atabekyan (1985). Its type specimen is TsGM 164/9431 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tuarkyr, Akkol Mountain, which is in a Cenomanian marine sandstone in Turkmenistan.
