Leoniceras sinaiticum was named by Douvillé (1928).
It was recombined as Choffaticeras sinaiticum by Aly et al. (2008); it was recombined as Choffaticeras (Choffaticeras) sinaiticum by Barroso-Barcenilla and Goy (2007), Guendouz et al. (2022) and Zaoui et al. (2024).
