Taxonomy
Chirotherium lomasi was named by Baird (1954). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is LU 8020, a footprint, and it is a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Isochirotherium lomasi by Haubold (1971), Demathieu and Haubold (1972), Haubold (1974), Klein et al. (2011), Klein and Lucas (2021).
