Reiszia tippula was named by Ivakhnenko (2000). Its type specimen is PIN 4541/2, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ust'-Vashka, PIN 4541, which is in a Kazanian/Urzhumian terrestrial horizon in the Russian Federation.
