Sigaretus scopulosus was named by Conrad (1849) [m. kosnik taxon no: 10143]. It is extant.
It was recombined as Sinum scopulosus by Durham (1944); it was recombined as Sinum scopulosum by Clark (1918), Stewart (1927), Etherington (1931), Loel and Corey (1932), Woodring and Bramlette (1950), Moore (1963), Addicott (1970), Marincovich (1977) and Hendy (2021).
